Local girls win 4th at Claude
The Clarendon Girls Basket-
ball team placed fourth in the
Claude Invitational Tournament
last weekend in Claude.
The girls beat Silverton 45-
38 in the opening round, with
high pointers Camille Mann and
LaRhonda Peoples leading the
way, Miss Mann with 26 and
Miss Peoples with 16.
But the second game of the
tourney was against the Claren-
don girls, and, well, they got
beat. The Claude girls won
0-19. High Point girls for Clar-
endon was Miss Peoples, 10
points, and Miss Mann, 5points.
Sanford Fritch beat the local
girls, 70-18, in the third game.
The Clarendon girls lost a
squeaker Tuesday night against
Wheeler by only 2 points. The
score was 42-40, and the locals
lost the game in the final se-
conds of the game. Camille
Mann was top girl with 16 points,
and Pam Mooring had 8.
The B Girls lost 41-30 to
Wheeler. Pat Weatherton, with
22 points, led the scoring.
