Senior Citizens News by Nova Neuhaus AMbig thanks to Bill and Nita eadors for making a trip to Amarillo to pick up a load of food items from the Food Bank for us on Tuesday, January 18th. On Wednesday, January 19th I attended the Advisory Council meeting at PRPC in Amarillo for the fiscal year 1994 Grant Awards made through Tide HI fundig for our nutrition program. We received a small cut in the funding again this year as did all other pro- gram that were requesting funds. It all becomes a reed challenge for us when food costs continue to rise and funding sources are cut back. Due to there being so many changes again this year in Medicare coverage, the Center will be spon- soring an informational Work- Shop on Wednesday, February 2ad at 1:30 p.m. in the dining room area. There will be a respresnetative here to discuss the new changes, documentation you will need now to file for claims, where to send claims, Medicare supplement policies and what they will cover. Also, in conjunction with this, Vikki Laxson from the Donley County Rural Health Clinic will be here to explain and answer ques- tions regarding their system as well The presentation will be done using overhead projection screen and hand-out materials to take with you. There will be time allowed for questions and answers. Bring you supplemental policies with you, should you have questions. Please pass the word along to others in the community as this will be most beneficial to them.
