NAOMI GREEN Naomi Green wasn't born in Donley County, but she spent most of eight decades here, and her family became known for their farming operations in the Ashtola, Martin, and Sunnyview areas. The family pioneered irrigation. in the area, and Naomi for 45 years headed the C.B. Morris Company, which was one of the first family farm corporations in the state. During her life she was active as a scout leader, Sunday school teacher, Red Cross chairman, and as a member of the Pathfinders Club and the library board. She also was faithful to the Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star and worked with the 4H, the livestock, the senior citizens, and other worthy endeavours for her community. For many years, she wrote the news for the Ashltola and Martin communities in the newspaper. She was known for her love of gardening, birds, reading, and children. TheWhistle-Stop and the community salute the memory of Naomi Green for her many contributions to the people of ' Donley County.
