Work day set
for Little League
May 6 at 1:30 p.m. there will be a work day at the Little
League Ball Park Bring your hoes, rakes, paint brushs
and lawn mowers and lend a hand. The first ballgame will
be May 29,
Officers for the Little League will be: president, Tex
Selvidge; vice president, Jeff Walker; secretary, Kay ttayes;
treasurer, Phebe Ann Bunttn; chief umpire, Junior Putman;
Little League player agent, Junior Putman; Senior League
player agent, Jeff Walker; eharge of concession stand, Jerry
Ann Lewis.
Boys in the age group of 9-12 should contact Junior Put-
man at 874-3875. Boys wanting to play in the age group of
13-16 should contact Jeff Walker at 874-2419.
FFA judging teams do well in regional competition
The FFA chapter of Clarendon tligh School took part in the
area FFA Judging Contest held in Lubbock March 21.
Results of their team effort is as follows:
Crops: (Tech competition) Fourth in Area I and second in
District headed by Mac Thornberry, Don ttillis and Eddy
Lads" Don placed as the seventh highest scoring individual.
Grass: Third in district. Composed of Gary Jack, Ricky
Mooring and Jim Owens.
DairyCattle: Second indistrict. Ray ttamilton, Steve McA fee
and Jem Simmons were these team members. Jem placed
as the fifth highest individual in this contest field.
Dairy Products: Third at Tech contest, second inArea I,
and first at district. Team members were Tommy Hill,
Start Shelton and Jeff Campbell. Stan was scored as the ninth
highest individual and Jeff received a fifth placing for his
solo efforts.
Livestock: First in district, landy Ward, Ray F ichte and
Rusty Williams served as the group members. Rust} was
the second highest scoring individual in the sheep judging
event).
Soils: Fifth at Tech, and first in cttrzct, in team com-
posed the efforts of Matt Plunkett, Calvin Burrow and Eddy
Vinson.
Poultry: Second in district. Davidwens, Reece McDaniels
and Eddy Ilammonds were the partners for this judging.
Farm Mechanics: Eighth Tech contest. Alan ttarper, Don-
nie Putman, Farrell McAffee and Bobby Kidd were the parti-
cipants for Clarendon
Because of their high scoring, the Diary Products team
qualified to go to the state EFA Judging contest held at
Texas A & M on May 28.
The FFA chapter of CttS and its sponsor, Milton Mann,
wish to remind the public of their upcoming annual Banquet
scheduled for May 8 at 7:30 p.m inthe high school cafeteria
